Explanations... Sail Area/Displacement Ratio (SA/D): the sail area divided by the displacement raised to the .667 power. This is a parameter of boat-power (number without measure unit). The higher SA/D number means higher power of boat. Displacement/Length (D/L): the displacement of boat divided by the length of waterline divided by 100 and raised to the 0,333 power. This is another parameter of boat-power. The lower D/L number means higher power. |
